For some time it seemed like every home interior publication and local parade of homes tours displayed all-white kitchen designs.  Finally the kitchen design trend is shifting away from all-white kitchens to a flare of color!

Read on….

I recently had a client hire me to help her and her hubby make selections for their upcoming major kitchen remodel.  At our first meeting, they shared with me pictures of dream kitchens they had been collecting from magazine photos.  Of course all of the photos were of all-white kitchens. Which was not surprising as it had been the hot trend for several years. However, I had to honestly tell them that I would not recommend the all-white look for the kitchen because it’s going bye bye.  Why?  Firstly, because all-white kitchens emit a sterile, commercial environment. After all, we live in the Midwest!  Let’s face it, with the long winters we endure we see enough grey on a day-to-day basis. Furthermore, there’s nothing warm nor welcoming about a light gray wall color paired with white everything else. ( In my professional opinion, that is.)

As an experienced designer I’m thrilled to finally see the industry rebelling against all-white kitchens.  Beautiful bold bright and rich colors are starting to emerge as island cabinets and bathroom vanity cabinets, which gives kitchens more depth and character.

In addition, other trends we’re seeing for 2020 are navy blue paired with blush pink.  One of Sherwin Williams hot new colors is a coral color that as a designer, I used about 20 years ago and now it’s back.  Pair that with a warm inviting gray or earthy green for an exquisite color combination that will add warmth to your home .  Furthermore, to add more interest and dimension, consider wallpaper for two or all of your walls, especially in the guest bath.  Wallpaper is back in style!  There are endless designs to chose from.  Don’t let that overwhelm you; I can make the selection painless.

Consequently, for the rest of this month, I am offering 10% off on a design package of $500 or more to get your started! Together we can determine a design plan that is perfect for you. If you have never hired a designer, know that you can have complete confidence working with an experienced designer like myself, to help transform your interior space. Perhaps the best reason to work with a professional designer is to avoid making decisions that can end up in costing a lot of dollars!
